How to Measure Your Pet
đž How to Measure Your Pet for the Perfect Fit
Choosing the right size helps your dog stay comfortable, safe, and happy. Hereâs a simple, stepâbyâstep guide to get accurate measurements every time.
1. Chest (Girth) â The Most Important Measurement
This is the widest part of your dogâs body.
⢠  Wrap a soft measuring tape around the rib cage, just behind the front legs
⢠  Make sure the tape is snug but not tight
⢠  This measurement determines the correct size for most harnesses and coats
Tip: If your dog is between sizes, always size up for comfort.
2. Neck
Measure where your dogâs collar naturally sits.
⢠  Wrap the tape around the base of the neck
⢠  Leave enough room to fit two fingers under the tape
⢠  This ensures the harness or coat wonât rub or feel restrictive
3. Back Length
This is important for coats, sweaters, and some apparel.
⢠  Have your dog stand naturally
⢠  Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar sits)
⢠  Down to the base of the tail
⢠  Keep the tape straight along the spine
4. Weight (Optional but Helpful)
Some products use weight as a secondary guide.
⢠  If your dog is close to the top of a size range, weight can help confirm the best fit
â Pro Tips for Accurate Measuring
⢠  Measure your dog while standing, not sitting
⢠  Take each measurement twice to be sure
⢠  If your dog is fluffy, measure with the tape against the body, not over the fur
⢠  When in doubt, size up â comfort matters more than a tight fit
